Book Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting is the process of writing material for someone else who may get all or some of the credit for the writing. The person who does the actual writing is therefore a ghost, or unseen or acknowledged, to the public.

book ghostwriting service

Our ghostwriting services are limited to nonfiction, such as biographies and autobiographies. These projects may involve all or some of these processes:

  • Conducting interviews
  • Doing research
  • Writing
  • Rewriting

This is a very personal, involved process, so it can take anywhere from several months to a year or more until a book is finished.

Sometimes the issue is whether to work with a ghostwriter vs. editor. A good editor or writing coach can certainly help to develop content ideas and provide commentary that inspires an author who is “stuck” or feels overwhelmed with writing. Here is when to consider using a ghostwriter:

  • You have the ideas and expertise but you’re not a strong writer
  • You have lots of notes or research but lack organizational skills
  • You simply don’t have time to tell your story in writing

Ghostwriter Credit:

While a ghostwriter may not get credit as the author of a book, his/her name may end up as co-author on the cover (“with…”), in the acknowledgements (“thanks to…”) or on the copyright page as an “editor” or “collaborator.” The arrangement for acknowledgement varies and may certainly evolve throughout the process.

Ghostwriter Payment:

Ghostwriters are paid upfront for their work and are not given royalties.

Ghostwriter Ethics:

We don’t write academic assignments and reports for students at any level. However, we have and will edit this work.
